Communications

How can we make this work?  We have the AMA, HEERA, CIM and CASE.
Anyone couple be an outlet for our research.  There are a number of journals as well.

Should we find other ways to meet?

  1. What about SHRE (she writes, declaring an interest as I'm on its Council) http://www.srhe.ac.uk/ ? If there are enough of 'us' at the Conference next month, we could at least meet up and put names to faces.

In the longer term, the SRHE supports networks of researchers and graduate students focused on specific areas of investigation - they have criteria for approving proposals for new networks, but if we could be operate under this framework, it would give us a way to arrange seminars etc with the admin looked after for us.

Of course 'other societies are also available'!

  3. Why not work together to design a survey instrument that covers a wide rang of interests? Anyone want to be part of this?

  4. Hi all

I have spoken with Debbie and her great offer of using two databases of student, pre and post UACs formal application. The need fro a wide scope and involvement of the sector gives us a great chance to work together through UCAS Media. We suggest the way forward is:

All those interested provide the concept area for the survey would like cover, by the end of this month, and send them Paul. The overall theme might be effectiveness of HEI communication and student information usage

A meeting in London end of January to build up the survey content, forma and analysis. The meeting we can get into details of dissemination, previous research, usage, ethics, storage; publications access to the data base, that kind of thing.

So, could you let Paul know your ideas to be covered and if you would like to attend a no expenses given meeting in London to get done to things? We will find other ways of involving people say via the blog and by circulating the survey instrument for review. We must keep this as a service to the sector and not a specific institutional project for one or two universities.

The message is also on blog and please pass this opportunity to anyone interested

    Best Regards

    Debbie and Paul
